  4. Thank you for purchasing Aztech's MacCube. This compilation represents
  5.  some of the very best shareware applications that are currently available.

  9. To use this disc, double-click on the "Let's Go" icon
  10.  
  11. The "Let's Go!" launch buttons usually opens a ReadMe file before the 
  12. application runs. Once you close the ReadMe file You can begin using
  13. the application.

  15. The Let's Go! program is a HyperCard Application. When it opens a Hyper-
  16. Card Stack use the Window's close button or menu item File/Close Stack 
  17. or w to quit without closing Let's Go!

  20. Many of the applications on this CD-ROM run directly from the CD-ROM, 
  21. although you may not be able to save applications or save reconfigure options 
  22. (you can't change the contents of a CD-ROM). Some applications may need to be 
  23. placed on your hard drive .

  25. Some applications want to write a configuration file or a high score file to disk. 
  26. Since it is not possible to write information to a CD-ROM (Compact Disc-Read
  27. Only Memory) any changes you make to the a game's configuration will have
  28. to be done each time you play the game. To overcome this, you will have to
  29. copy the applications to your hard disk or to a floppy.

  32. A NOTE ABOUT SHAREWARE

  34. It is important to note that the bundled price of this CD-ROM covers only 
  35. the medium, research, assembly, production, packaging, and distribution  
  36. costs. The actual intellectual properties (that is, the shareware programs) 
  37. require separate payment to the author(s) if you are going to use them. 
  38. These programs are "shareware." They are not free unless specifically 
  39. identified as such.

  41. Many of the applications offer the first episode or level for free with the hope
  42. that you will enjoy them enough to want to buy the additional episodes.
  43. This is one of the best methods of shareware. Try the first level - if
  44. you like it buy the rest.

  46. Other applications give you the full functionality and the author expects that
  47. if you like and use their product that you will forward a recommended
  48. payment to them. Usually there are additional incentives for "registering."

  53. All of the applications have been reviewed. They all work. They are 
  54. all decompressed .You do not need to know the "executable" file. You 
  55. do not need to know how to use various decompression programs.

  58. MOST COMMON SHAREWARE PROBLEMS

  61. The shareware Aztech selected for this compilation is amongst the best in 
  62. the world and some of these applications approach or even exceed the quality of 
  63. some commercial applications products. Applications will freeze, hang-up, lock out, 
  64. cause the screen to go screwy, terminate abnormally and do all the most 
  65. horrific things that we all dislike about PC's and none of it is specific 
  66. or even necessarily caused by the application currently running. The most 
  67. common problems you may run into are:

  69. You did not read the HELP file (which you ARE now reading). This short 
  70. file has some useful information about how to use the disc and how to 
  71. exit from games that don't have an obvious exit.

  74. The first thing to try  is to copy the whole application over to the hard 
  75. drive. Some programs want to write a high score or a configuration file or 
  76. set up some temporary work area, which cannot be done on a read-only device. 
  77. We also found that copying the game to the hard disk solved the problem.
